This is to bring the attention of all motoring public in the Federal Capital Territory that the Directorate of Road Traffic Services (DRTS) in its effort to curb the proliferation of fake insurance policies in the FCT, is partnering with the Nigerian Insurance Association (NIA) for the integration of Nigerian Insurance Industry Database (NIID) for the purpose of verification of all insurance documents purchased before the completion of all motor vehicle related transactions in the FCT with effect from 20th November, 2023.![]()

2. To this end, all the motoring public and the service seekers of all motor vehicle related transactions in the FCT are to ensure that they obtain motor vehicle third party/comprehensive insurance duly uploaded in the NIID Portal which can be accessed on askniid.org.![]()
