In line with the Presidential priorities and ministerial deliverables, the following Policies and regulations are domesticated in the Directorate:

DRTS Automation Policy Public;
Transport Management System;
FCT Policy on the Ban on Commercial Motorcycle (Okada) and Route Management for Tricycle Operations (Kekenapep);
FCT Road Transport Regulation 2022
FCT E- enforcement Policy and penalty;
Computerized Vehicle Inspection;
FCT Drivers Training, Testing and Licensing;
FCT Driving Schools Administration and Management

The FCT Directorate of Road Traffic Service was established pursuant to 1980 International Treaty on the Harmonization of Highway legislations in the ECOWAS Sub-region signed by the Authority of Heads of States and Government that approved setting up of appropriate machinery in member Nations that will be responsible for Motor Vehicle Administration.
